Does the Start Date Count?

Date-difference answers depend on the counting convention. An elapsed-day calculation normally measures the gap between the dates rather than automatically counting both endpoints. If a rule says the first day, last day or both must be included, follow that rule rather than assuming a universal convention.

Calendar Days, Weekends and Working Days

Calendar days include every date. Working-day counts normally include only selected weekdays. Weekend patterns and public holidays vary, so the tool separates the concepts instead of treating them as interchangeable.
